About Karen
Hey everyone! Thanks for clicking on me. (Did that sound bad? lol) I’m a writer of many talents, or distractions, however you want to look at it. I have a Bachelor of Science degree in Technical Writing (which means I’m pretty anal about language in general) and a minor degree in Creative Writing (which means I wanted to major in creative writing but realized my junior year that I probably wouldn’t make any money doing that and switched to something a little more lucrative).
I took a web designing class in college to meet a requirement and immediately fell in love with the whole table/HTML thing. I’ve been designing and maintaining websites for local schools for the past two years and I love every minute of it. I work out of my home and I’m hoping to expand my business to include blog templates in the very near future.
Writing is my number one passion and I hope to someday get something published, anything, even a grocery list (though I suppose “technically” the writing I do on my blog constitutes published, but you know, the whole New York publishing house thing). I hope my participation in the Write Stuff blog will help me get fired up about creative writing once again and to motivate me to actually get some work done. I tend to be long-winded (can you tell??) so if I start to babble, just slap me around a bit and I’ll get back on track. lol
As far as ME - I was born and bred in the heart of the Ozarks. I’m an introvert but can be an extrovert when the occasion arises. I love to read, write, camp, ride bikes, walk, spend time with my family, surf the web and make people laugh.
