Short Story Contest Rules
So you want to write a short story, eh? Great! Because we have the perfect contest for you.
The next short story contest begins: TBA
Here’s what you do:
1. Write a short story (PG-rated, please. Anything deemed risque or offensive will not be considered).
2. Word limit is 1,000 words. (If you try and enter a story that is longer than 1,000 words, you will be asked to shorten it or be disqualified. The challenge is to write a rich, full story within 1,000 words. And yes, the admin will be running the stories through a word count program.

3. Post your story to your blog.
4. Only one entry per person, please.
5. Leave the direct link to your entry in the Mr. Linky box which will appear in a sticky post May 2nd.
6. Deadline to enter is 4:00 p.m. central time May 9th.
7. Voting will begin shortly after deadline. (A poll will either appear in the contest post, or a link will be provided).
8. Voting ends 8:00 a.m. central time May 13th. (Which gives you plenty of time to urge your readers to vote for your entry!!)
9. Bloggers/readers/writers are judges.
10. Winner will be announced shortly after 8:00 a.m. central time May 13th.
11. Winner receives a $20.00 gift certificate to Amazon.com as well as have his/her story published on Write Stuff May 17th.
Please note: This is a short story contest which means stories are expected to be error-free, gramatically correct, interesting/compelling and some of your best writing. Our readership is steadily increasing which means you never really know who’s reading your work - please keep it professional.
