It’s In The Air
May 8th, 2008 Posted in Andrea“I’m a famous writer in a country where nobody reads.” ~ John Grisham
That quote is more truer than some of us may like. Personally, I was part of the problem not the solution. I own 140+ books in my little library and haven’t read half of them. I keep acquiring more and put off reading them. Bad habit, I know. However, things have change as of late.
My step-grandmother and I have been swapping books. Then, my aunt and step-uncle entered the mix. Reading has become a hot thing in our household. In the last eleven days, I have finished reading one book and read two more. I started a fourth today. I’m hoping to keep this going.
While this may not be true for everyone, I feel it is in the air for me. This may be a fad and I might end up going back to being a lazy reader. All I know is I feel highly motivated to crack open some books. Anyone else?

It is definitely in the air Andrea. I have always had a deep love for reading but I got really lazy, and I fell out of the habit. This year I was determined to recreate the habit - setting myself the task of one book a month (didn’t want to be too ambitious)
In April I managed to read two books, and this month I’m hoping for the same. All of the recent discussion on our blogs about book lists opened my eyes to so many books that I want to read .. you could say I’ve got the bug.
Reading is both a necessity now and a blissful pleasure. Can’t have it any better than that.

I love that more and more people are reading. Great post to inspire people. But what books are you reading? We all need new ideas.

I finished Snare of Serpents by: Victoria Holt. Then read Retribution By: Jilliane Hoffman and Creepers By: David Morrell (both were excellent). Now, I’m reading Daddy’s Girl By: Lisa Scottoline.
